These lighters were most commonly made after World War 2 when aluminum was easy to get and brass was still in extremely short supply. There are other lighters that are very similar, but they were arbitrarily left out of this collection as these are simpler and obviously machined from aluminum blocks while others are more complex. c. late 1940s - early 1950s. Another identical lighter is listed as the Chi Chi Club lighter as it was produced specifically for them. This blank lighter and the USNC lighter were also undoubtedly produced by the same unidentified company as they are identical in every other way.

The lighter below / center is almost surely made by Atlas Industries of Los Angeles, CA between 1942-1947 as it seems it likely had an "O.P.A. Retail Ceiling Price $3.50" and the Office of Price Administration was was active during the dates above.
