Eco-Trail Hike

Went on a hike through the jungle on an Eco Trail. The trees are amazingly tall and termites build their nests in the trees themselves (see picture of a small termite nest) - I guess the heavy rains would flood and drown them if they were ground based. There were 11 suspension bridges on the trail ranging between 150-200 feet each. The trail is mostly downhill - except for a short but severe uphill at the end (of the trail... and me). The bridges cross seriously deep troughs. So, at my age I found out going downhill isn't that easy either: If there are enough steps and a long paved but steep downhill trail, it's still takes a LOT of effort to keep going downhill! No, not like uphill, but still not easy. The walk takes about an hour - not sure just how much distance was covered, but if it had been much more I'd just have stopped and still been there! I think I need hip replacements now. Thank God, they provide a ride back up to the top / starting point. It's amazing how many hills and valleys there are on this island and how absolutely steep they are. And the trees... VERY tall!
