Glass Bottom Boat

Today went on a 'glass bottom boat' to look at part of the reef from the top side. It was a bit disappointing... The water looks crystal clear when looking down into it - but when you see from below water level through the glass widows on the boat, it is very 'foggy'. Partly this is because of the sunlight blazing down through the water and the refraction from small particles in the water. There were HUGE numbers of jellyfish - sometimes it looked like a snowstorm with the jellyfish as large flakes. There were a lot of fish on the reef and they stopped the boat and threw some food into the water and each handful set off a frenzy of the fish going after it. Sadly, the reef has seen many better days - but this section is way overused and that has taken its toll.
