Road Trip! I had a great early breakfast at the Off The Rails Cafe in El Dorado, AR. The refurbished 1883 rail car is a treat to eat in or in the enclosed space outside and beside it. This is one of the cool features of the reimagined historic downtown. This part of Arkansas owes a lot of its history and its period of greatest wealth to the oil strike in the 1920s that was reminiscent in many ways of the California gold rush of another time. Oil Heritage Park - a pleasant little park tucked in the downtown recalls this time. It's amazing what this city of about 19,000 has done with the restoration of the historic downtown.
